• Consultations All new clients must make a consultation appointment prior to the start of service to  discuss your pet’s needs and schedule. However, you can create an account before you book your consultation. The first consultation is free. Any appointment requests for meet ups made after to make a revision of services may incur an additional charge.
  • Reservations You must go thru your customer login for all new service requests, changes to existing services, or cancellations. If you do not make your request thru the customer portal, Furry Tails & Litter Pails cannot be held responsible for any errors in scheduling. 
  • You can make your request by submitting a Service Request thru our website, by calling (213) 300-8275, or by sending an email to traci@tailsandpails.com. If you leave a voicemail message or send an email, please do not assume that we have received your message until you receive a confirmation from our office. All service requests will be confirmed or declined within 48 hours (please note that our office has limited hours on the weekend). We do not accept service requests via text message. Please DO NOT leave town without receiving a confirmation from us.
  • We require a minimum of two (2) business days notice for all pet sitting reservations. If you make your pet sitting reservation with less than two (2) business days notice, we may not be able to accept your reservation. 
  • Emergency/Last Minute visits that are required with less than 8 hours notice are subject to scheduling availability and will be billed at the regular rate (not the discount package rate) plus a $10 emergency service fee.  
  • Time Window Policy:
    For pet sitting and mid-day dog walking, we ask that our clients choose a preferred window (i.e. anytime between 11am and 2pm, etc..) of time for us to visit their pets in. We cannot guarantee exact times unfortunately (i.e. 2pm on the dot, etc..).
    We are extremely compassionate and take into great consideration pets who are in crates or with special needs. Please let us know if your pet falls into this category.
  • Payments:
    Payment is due after services are completed. Cash only. If paying after services, you will need to make arrangements for payment delivery. You may leave payment when services start. 

    Recurring Visits/Walks - Payments from recurring customers receiving regularly scheduled dog walking services shall be invoiced weekly or prepaid monthly.  

    Medications 
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails will administer medications to your pet at no additional cost.  Medications include pills, tablets, oral liquid medications, topical ointments or creams.  Please note that more complex medications, such as insulin shots or Sub-q treatments are not included and may be administered for an additional fee.
  • Medical Emergencies 
    In the event of a medical emergency,  Furry Tails & Litter Pails shall contact the Owner at the numbers provided to confirm the Owner's choice of action. If the Owner cannot be reached, Furry Tails & Litter Pails is authorized to:
    • Transport the pet(s) to the listed veterinarian;
    • Request on-site treatment from a veterinarian;
    • Transport the pet(s) to an emergency clinic if the previous two options are not feasible.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails and its agents are released from all liability related to transporting pets(s) to and from any veterinary clinic or kennel, the medical treatment of the pet(s) and the expense thereof.
                                                         Key Pick-Up/Drop Off                                                        We request a copy of your house key at the time of your consultation appointment. For your convenience, your keys will be kept on file indefinitely for ease of scheduling future service.  Clients that elect not to keep keys on file with Furry Tails & Litter Pails will be charged a $10 fee for either having a sitter pick up or drop off keys. This fee also applies if you chose not to leave keys at the time of your consultation appointment.
  • Lock-Out Service This service is not guaranteed, but is available if an agent of Furry Tails & Litter Pails are available. In the event that a client becomes locked out of their home, Furry Tails & Litter Pails may provide residential lock-out service for a fee of $20 per incident.
  • Cancellations:
    Any pet sitting/overnight cancellations must go through your customer portal log in on the web site.  Cancellations must be made at least 72 hrs in advance for full refund. Reservations cancelled  48hrs prior to service will receive an 60% refund. Reservations cancelled 24 hrs hours or less will receive no refunds.  Regularly scheduled dog walking services cancelled 48hrs in advance will receive a full refund, less then 24hrs will incur a $10 charge, less than 8hrs will receive no refund and be charges for the full amount.
  • Exclusions and Liabilities: 
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails reserves the right to refuse service for animals we deem aggressive or dangerous toward people or other animals. Elderly pets and those with special needs (i.e., requiring medications) receive preference when scheduling pet sitting visits. 
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails accepts no liability for any breach of security or loss of or damage to the Owner's property if any other person (other than a Tails & Pails representative) has access to the property during the term of this agreement.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails and its agents shall not be liable for any mishap of whatsoever nature which may befall a pet or caused by a pet who has unsupervised access to the outdoors.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails will not be held accountable for any fleas/ticks or foxtails that are found on your pet.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails may deny service for an “Emergency Walk” if in the event that no walker is available to walk the client’s dog.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails is an Independent Contractor and not an employee.
    If Client’s dog(s) or cat(s) bites or attacks anything (animal or person), Furry Tails & Litter Pails and/or a representative of Furry Tails & Litter Pails reserves the right to refuse service. Bites must be reported to the local authorities. The owner will be liable for all medical care expenses and damages that result from an animal bite.
    Furry Tails & Litter Pails and/or a representatives of Furry Tails & Litter Pails agrees to provide pet care and services in a reliable, trustworthy, and caring manner.
