I do hereby waive and release At Home Comforts Pet Sitting from any and all liabilities of any nature for the actions of myself, my pet(s), or any other person who accompanies me, or holds a key to my home; except those arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of At Home Comforts Pet Sitting.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting agrees to provide adequate food, water, shelter and humane treatment for your pet(s) at all times during the agreed schedule of visits.  In addition, we agree to adhere to all state and local laws, and to the best of our ability and in the best interest of your pet(s), follow your typed instructions regarding your home and pets while they are in our care.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting agrees to provide all services in a kind, reliable, and trustworthy manner.  Client agrees to notify At Home Comforts Pet Sitting of any concerns within 24 hours of return.
 
In the case of emergency, inclement weather, or a natural disaster I authorize At Home Comforts Pet Sitting to use judgment for the care and well being of my pet(s) and/or house.  It is recommended that arrangements be made with someone to evacuate your pets in case of a disaster or weather related crisis. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will do everything possible to see to your pets safety and care should such events occur, but cannot guarantee it.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting can terminate this contract if my pet becomes a threat to the safety or health of At Home Comforts Pet Sitting staff due to aggressive behavior. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will attempt to contact me if issues arise.  In the case that At Home Comforts Pet Sitting cannot reach me, I authorize At Home Comforts Pet Sitting to place my pet(s) in a licensed kennel with all charges there from to be paid by the undersigned. I acknowledge I am responsible for medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a Pet Sitter, or other persons, caused by my pet or my negligence.
 
Pet Owner authorizes At Home Comforts Pet Sitting to seek veterinary service from a veterinarian or veterinary clinic in the event that any of my pets appears too ill, injured or at a significant risk of experiencing a medical problem at the start of service or while in the care of At Home Comforts Pet Sitting. My preferred veterinary services are listed in my Client Profile.  Other veterinarians or emergency care clinics chosen by At Home Comforts Pet Sitting are acceptable if my preferred clinic cannot be reached. Pet Owner assumes full responsibility for the payment and/or reimbursement for any and all veterinary services rendered, including but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, grooming, medical supplies, and boarding.  Pet Owner also agrees to be responsible for all service assessed by At Home Comforts Pet Sitting for emergency transportation, care, supervision, or hiring of emergency caregivers, and will pay such fees within 7 days of each incident. This agreement is valid from the date of this agreement and grants permission for future veterinary care without the need for additional authorization each time At Home Comforts Pet Sitting cares for one or more of my pets.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting is not responsible for wilted, dead or otherwise unhealthy plants.  We will work hard to follow your typed directions as precisely as possible, but cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting is not responsible for any damage to property of the client or others unless such damage is caused by the negligent act of the Pet Sitter. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting agrees to remain fully insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas, or a comparable entity, including optional Special Property Endorsement (protects against theft, breakage, etc. as caused by an employee). At Home Comforts Pet Sitting accepts no responsibility for security of the premises or loss if other individuals have access to a client’s home or if the home is not properly secured.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting is not responsible for damage to the home beyond the control of the Pet Sitter.  This includes, but is not limited to, leaks, electrical problems and acts of nature.  In these situations, At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will attempt to contact the customer and then the emergency contact before making a decision on dealing with the problem.  All repairs and related fees (including special service emergency time and coordination fees) will be paid by the client.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting is not liable for any loss or damage in the event a burglary or other crime should occur while under this contract.  Pet Owner agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit.  While keys are in the possession of a Pet Sitter, they will be either on the Sitter’s physical person or be properly stored at an undisclosed location.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting subscribes to insurance coverage through Business Insurers of the Carolinas for lost key lock replacements.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting has permission to make a backup key(s) for staff use and emergency purposes at their discretion. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting requires that 2 keys be provided at the consultation.  At Home Comforts Pet Sitting agrees to place an identifying code on my key(s), and key(s) will not be marked with my name, address, or pet’s names.   At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will automatically retain the key(s) at the end of each service period. When not in use, Pet Owner's key(s) will be stored in a secure location by At Home Comforts Pet Sitting. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting has permission to provide my key(s) to any of its employees that will be providing me with Pet Sitting services.  If at any time Pet Owner would like to have the keys returned, At Home Comforts Pet Sitting is willing to return key(s) via certified mail.  Each mailed key transfer is charged to the client at a rate of $10.  If you do not want us to retain your keys at the end of service, we highly recommend that you purchase and utilize a lockbox.  At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will not release Pet Owner’s key until we have confirmed that Pet Owner has returned home. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will not pick up and drop off your keys, lock them inside your home, or leave them outside on your property.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting prohibits the use of cameras or sound recording devices in bathrooms, or areas of the home utilized by our staff members during Overnight or Around the Clock Care sits. If Pet Sitter(s) find there are cameras in these locations, or during these specific services, we will terminate service immediately. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting does not authorize any images or sound to be published.
 
Pet Owner must have legal rights to place the animals in the care of At Home Comforts Pet Sitting, Kennels and Veterinary clinics. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting can not service a home with “visiting” pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the service site without separate sets of agreement forms, accepted and signed by each rightful Owner(s).
 
Pet Owner is responsible for pet proofing the house and yard, and the security fences/gates/latches.  At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will not be responsible for the safety of any pets and will also not be liable for the death, injury, disappearance, or legal consequences of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors (i.e. Dog Doors).
 
Pet Owner is responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment and supplies needed for care of their pet(s).  This includes, but is not limited to, a sturdy, well-fit collar for walks or in case of emergencies, firmly affixed Rabies tag, leash, poop-scoopers, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medications, pet food and cat litter.  Pet Owner authorizes any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties.  Pet Owner agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining items, and will reimburse At Home Comforts Pet Sitting within 7 days for all purchases made.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will provide a standard 4 to 6 foot leash of appropriate size/strength for your pet’s size/weight.  For your pet’s safety and the safety of our associates, we do not utilize retractable leashes. We may require a no-pull harness, head collar, or a Martingale type collar to ensure your pet’s safety and the safety of our associates during walks.
 
In the event of a personal emergency or illness of a scheduled Pet Sitter, Client authorizes At Home Comforts Pet Sitting to arrange for another qualified, staff member to fulfill responsibilities of pet care.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will not visit your home when minor children are present and unaccompanied by an adult.
 
At the time that service is booked, Pet Owner will notify At Home Comforts Pet Sitting of everyone who has been granted access to the home during the service period. Due to liability, At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will refuse to provide service when another person is expected to share care.
 
At Home Comforts Pet Sitting reserves the right to refuse service to any client, at any time, for any reason. We will not accept a request for service if we feel the visit schedule is inappropriate (too few visits) for the health of your pet, or the safety of your home.
 
Pet Owner gives At Home Comforts Pet Sitting permission to take photographs and/or video of my pets and has my permission to use these for marketing purposes and/or use on www.ahcpetsitting.com, Facebook, and/or other social media websites.  Personal Information will not be associated with any content used for this purpose.
 
The terms of this document apply to all pets owned by the client, including any new pets that the client obtains on or after the date this document was signed, and at any and all locations the owner designates for service.
 
I attest the above information is true to the best of my knowledge.  If anything changes from what is listed above, I will inform At Home Comforts Pet Sitting before the next service is scheduled to begin.  This information must be updated in the client portal on Power Pet Sitter. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will not respond to written notes left at the service location.  In turn, At Home Comforts Pet Sitting will provide any changes to this agreement in the same forms; by mailing, emailing or leaving a printed copy at the time of the visit. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting does not accept handwritten notes.
 
This signed document gives At Home Comforts Pet Sitting and their employees authorization to enter the above listed home as needed to perform the necessary care as outlined in this contract.  I authorize this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit At Home Comforts Pet Sitting to accept all future telephone, text, mail and email reservations and enter my house without additional signed contracts or written authorizations.


Cancellation Policies

Regular Visits

Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice: 25% of total scheduled service fee may apply.

Potty Break/Dog Walk/Daily Cat Visits
These programs are designed to be an ongoing, regular service. We build our day’s schedule around them. A $9 cancellation fee may apply to cancellations made after 8 pm the day before.

Holidays
Less than four days notice: 50% of total scheduled service fees will apply.

Early Returns
Please remember that we reserve all of the times for your pet’s care when you give us your schedule. If you return home early, charges for the rest of the visits scheduled will still apply.

Payment Policies

Payment arrangements are made prior to the service.

We accept cash, checks and credit or debit cards. 

Credit/Debit cards will be billed on the first day of service.
 
If you are taking care of your service fees with Cash or a Check, please leave payment at the first visit.  Cash should be left in an envelope clearly marked “AHC”, and checks should be made out to “At Home Comforts Pet Sitting”. If we arrive and payment has not been left, the office will contact you to obtain a credit card number for that sit.
 
Dishonored checks will incur a $30 service fee plus any charges made by the bank.
